> wood print Woodland Friends stickers

Our wood print Woodland Friends wall stickers will really give focus to a bland, unloved wall, turning it from drab to fab, almost in an instant. The lovely natural tones of the wood texture look really fresh and contemporary and work with all types of furnishings.

Paint the walls a soft grey for a light and airy feel, or go darker and create real drama... how about Farrow and Ball's Railings (a lovely, velvety bronze black) or Down Pipe. I promise you, it will delight! Add funky white or wooden furniture, a chunky textured rug, cushions with a woodland or hot fluoro vibe to inject excitement, a cool pendant light and our kids Panton chair in white to finish the room.

> our logo for Café at the Mill

As well as designing interior spaces and interior products, we also do packaging and graphic design and some architectural design work too! Basically, we love designing and best of all, seeing the end result, be it a room transformation, brochure, new wallpaper or logo. Here is a logo we designed for a lovely client who is opening a café at Combe Mill in Oxfordshire.

Initally called "The Mill Tea Room" but offering more food options that a typical tea room, we felt the name was not doing the business justice. Additionally, having The Mill named first, the emphasis was the wrong way round. So, we came up with Café at the Mill. Sounds lovely, doesn't it? Located by a stream with meadows, trees and wildlife in abundance we wanted to capture the essence of the setting within the logo, with wild grasses, meadow flowers, dragonflies and butterflies.

Then there's Laura's food. Absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and a really inventive menu. Organic (naturally), Laura also forages for some of her ingredients. Wild garlic, nettles, herbs and other seductive items regularly feature in the menu.

The Café at the Mill is open Tuesdays and Fridays. Telephone/ 01993 891932 and mobile/ 07717 437902. Come and visit - you'll eat well, see deer and kingfishers and even otters in the stream!

> Helter Skelter mural

Image of today; our Helter Skelter mural. It's bold and colourful and makes even a small room look enormous. It packs a real punch! There's so much going on in this design and it is really fun. Our daughter had this in her room for a few years and loved it - she used to count the little creatures and stars and image she was at the circus. I loved the black Citroen DS car at the bottom of the design (still do)!

> Soldier Ants wallpaper

Our Soldier Ants wallpaper was used in this little boy's bedroom. One of our lovely customers had only just decorated her son's room with our Dinosaurs Rock wallpaper when she found out she was having another baby! A room change required new decor, and this time she chose our Soldier Ants. We collaborated over key pieces of furniture and the overall colour scheme to nail the look... and it looks pretty fab!

Thanks very much for the photo's Laura and congratulations on the safe arrival of your daughter x

> Wood Print Height Chart

I really do love this design, it's one of my favourites - it has a cute naïve charm about it.  Our Woodland Friends Height Chart, printed with a soft blonde plywood finish. It has kissing bunnies, a scurrying squirrel, another chomping on an acorn, a swinging bird house with little birdies and of course, our trademark butterflies and dragonflies. This is shown on a soft grey wall (Sandersons Ice Cascade) but it looks really fab on a deep dark wall too. If you feel brave try it on F&B's Down Pipe for a magically etherial nocturnal forest look.

> raised bed... ready for decoration!

So, the raised bed for our 11 year old girl is now built (see yesterday's blog post) and ready for decoration. In this snug bedroom (I love challenging rooms), space had to be meticulously planned - there's no room for all the usual pieces of furniture, so, building a bed on top of storage cupboards was the natural answer. The cupboards contain clothes rails and loads of shelves - there's now more storage than having a freestanding wardrobe and set of drawers! We're planning on cladding the bed in our scrapwood wallpaper and having acid yellow ladders.

As the bed is raised up in the air, there's no bedside unit for a lamp or place to set a drink/book down. It would be a real pain to have to keep clambering up and down the ladder for this, so we've turned a void in the wall above the head of the bed into a small set of shelves. This will have internal lighting for bedtime reading etc. Cool hey?

Decoration starts next week.

I'll show you the designs and works for other 3 bedrooms over the next week.

> Interior design for cottage - bedroom 1

We are working on some bedroom interiors with the most wonderful family for their new cottage in a beautiful Oxfordshire village.  The cottage is being totally refurbished and and converted from a 3 bed to a 4 bed property.

Here are the plans for the bedroom of their 11 year old daughter. The room is about 2m x 2.4m (so it's snug!) but it doesn't have to skimp on style or storage. The initial issue, was storage - how to fit a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bed and a desk into the room. Simple - build upwards! We designed a raised bed, with fixed ladder and storage underneath featuring clothes rails and shelving. Loads of room. A void space above the girls head area will contain a small shelf unit and internal light and a desk with paper lanterns above. The bed will be clad in scrapwood wallpaper and a wallcovering sits on the desk wall. It all looks grown up and sophisticated and, crucially, will grow with her as she gets older.

The bed has been constructed out of MDF and I'll show you some images of it tomorrow - it looks fabulous... all ready for painting!
