> Woodland Friends WallScene

It's all change for our daughter and her bedroom. We are starting to re-design her bedroom having promised her a new room for ages. She sees all the interior design we do for our clients and now feels she is a big girl and can request her own style.

She wants to go industrial with an historical theme (she's going to be an archaeologist and Phil Harding from Time Team is her hero... mine too, actually!). So, we are going for lots of dark grey (yay - v happy about this), natural wood, metal bed and anglepoise lamps. Oh, and a nod to Monty Python. Again, very happy to incorporate this, being as they are also heroes of mine too! 

So, sadly this is just about the last time we will see our Woodland Friends Wallscene on her wall... she has the citrus one and it is just glorious. Especially when the sun pours in from the window - a golden light radiates around the room. It's been on her wall for about 5 years now and really does look as pristine as the day it went up. She will be keeping the Eames chair as it's one of our favourite design classics.

We are re-vamping our website and will very shortly have a new selection of WallScene wallpapers, wall stickers, cushions and furniture and lighting. All very exciting and busy at the moment.

We will also be offering interior design as a e-service as well as a bespoke hands on service. This means you can send in photos of your room together with dimensions and we will design a stunning room for you. We'll supply you with mood boards, a full room layout, wallpaper and fabric samples and a list of product to order to complete the room. All nice and simple and super easy to do.

We also offer a bespoke service where we meet you and design and manage your rooms, using our fab team of craftsmen. This service is perfect if you don't have the time to manage a project yourself.

We've just had a new commission to design the bedroom for a growing 9 year old boy... the friend of twin boys whose rooms we completed recently. Thought you might like to see the three rooms we did for them. 

We designed loads of built in storage space and desks (you can never have too much storage space...), fabulous blocks of colour, Orla Kiely bed linen, Original BTC lighting, our beloved Verner Panton chairs and bespoke vinyl wall graphics, including silhouettes of the boys playing football!

> Soldier Ants wallpaper

Our Soldier Ants wallpaper was used in this little boy's bedroom. One of our lovely customers had only just decorated her son's room with our Dinosaurs Rock wallpaper when she found out she was having another baby! A room change required new decor, and this time she chose our Soldier Ants. We collaborated over key pieces of furniture and the overall colour scheme to nail the look... and it looks pretty fab!

> raised bed... ready for decoration!

So, the raised bed for our 11 year old girl is now built (see yesterday's blog post) and ready for decoration. In this snug bedroom (I love challenging rooms), space had to be meticulously planned - there's no room for all the usual pieces of furniture, so, building a bed on top of storage cupboards was the natural answer. The cupboards contain clothes rails and loads of shelves - there's now more storage than having a freestanding wardrobe and set of drawers! We're planning on cladding the bed in our scrapwood wallpaper and having acid yellow ladders.

As the bed is raised up in the air, there's no bedside unit for a lamp or place to set a drink/book down. It would be a real pain to have to keep clambering up and down the ladder for this, so we've turned a void in the wall above the head of the bed into a small set of shelves. This will have internal lighting for bedtime reading etc. Cool hey?

Decoration starts next week.
